foster parents
|
Foster parents are volunteers who are willing to provide temporary, in-home care for dogs, cats and their offspring. You provide the love, and we’ll provide the critters. Foster Care is a most rewarding and fulfilling program that helps save the lives of animals that might not otherwise have a chance.
The ideal foster parent is anyone who loves animals and is willing to donate their time, providing lots of tender love and care. Click for more information about SVACA's Foster Parent program. |
animal volunteers
|
Animal volunteers help keep our cats, dogs, and small animals happy and healthy, and provide them with invaluable human interaction while they wait to find their forever homes.
The ideal animal volunteer is anyone who loves being with animals and is willing to donate their time, love, and attention. We ask all volunteers to commit to working at least two hours a week for 6 months. Click for more information about SVACA's Volunteer program, including age restrictions and fees. |
event ambassadors
|
Event ambassadors help at community events, such as festivals and holiday celebrations, spreading awareness of SVACA and advocating pet adoption. They also assist at SVACA events such as Clear the Shelters and Pour for Paws.
The ideal event ambassador is friendly and outgoing, is able to work at both onsite and offsite events, is willing to pitch in wherever she or he is needed, and (of course) loves animals. We ask all volunteers to make a six-month commitment. For more information, refer to SVACA's Volunteer program page, or contact Friends of SVACA. |
education docents
|
Education docents give group presentations on animal care and welfare to students, clubs, and organizations.
The ideal education docent is anyone who loves with animals, is comfortable speaking in front of groups, and is willing to donate their time. We ask all volunteers to make a six-month commitment. Click for more information about SVACA's Volunteer program. |
other opportunities
|
Animal transport volunteers help relocate animals to various rescue groups or to off-site adoption events (mostly) within the Bay Area. Until animals learn to drive, we would love your help!
Grant writers help generate needed funds that SVACA uses for everything from emergency animal care to benches for the doggy rooms. If you have other talents or ideas of how you can help us, we would love to hear from you. See SVACA's Volunteer program page, or contact Friends of SVACA. |
